Compete, Attend, Support

Miners' Days is an annual event in Nederland, offering competitions in skills of the old mining days, with fierce contests of skill and strength in Spike Driving, Bow Sawing, Mucking, Single and Double Jack, and Individual and Team Jack Leg. During the displays of human strength, vendors will be selling food, and crafts. Special childrens' activities make this an event for all ages. Throughout the weekend, the Mining Museum will be open for education, fun, and excitement.

Defending World Champion Emmit Hoyl to Compete!

In 2008, Emmit Hoyl (age 23) became the youngest known winner at the 34th annual singlejack rock drilling world championship. At the event in Carson City Nevada, Emmit drilled 13 5/8" into hard rock granite over a ten-minute period. Emmit brought the title of world champion back to Colorado after a long hiatus of other states winning the prize. Last year, Emmit successfully defended his title as world Champion.
